My idea here is to use scan in O'Meara's Messier sketches (if I can get the time) as "tracing paper" to practice with so I can try to improve my sketching ability. *** Practice some sketching with the tablet/Artrage. *** Make sure my DeepSky is controlling the CPC800 Things I still want to verify: I need to. I'm still fairly new, averaging about two observations per month now for just a tad over 1 year. Lord willing, I'll be spending 3 or 4 nights at the Smoky Mountain Stargaze in a couple of weeks and I want to make sure I'm ready. This will be my first time to try this combination, linked up with a Celestron CPC800. I wonder if anyone else has tried the triple-tool approach of a tablet computer (the one I'm using is an IBM Thinkpad X41) plus Deepsky (just got version 2007.01.03) plus ArtRage 2.5 (for sketching at the telescope using the stylus with the tablet).
